His successors gave the town the honourable name "felix".

Island Rab :: Barbat The first place to greet you after incredibly denuded Misnjak is Barbat. The Barbat people have spontaneously mixed the modern with the traditional, and in private pensions you'll be able to relish meals featuring fish and other sea-food.
Island Rab :: Supetarska draga The fertile valley houses Supetarska Draga as well as Mundanije. Gornja and Donja (Upper and Lower) Draga have spread round the Draga Bay. The people of the Dragas have also combined modern and traditional ways of living, and this is easily sensed in tourist industry.
Island Rab :: Kampor Kampor is located in the north-west of the island. With its two large bays St. Euphemia and the bay of Kampor as well as many smaller ones on the Kalifront peninsula, with its bungalows and hotels in Suha Punta, apartments and board and lodging houses is represents a big tourist potential.

Today`s town`s appearance, numerus monuments and the romains of strong fortresses are witnesses to the long and interesting history of the town. In the town there are four bell-towers, monuments and numerous palaces of the rich Rab families. One of the most beatiful parks in the Mediterranean, "Komrčar", is placed right behind the old town. Since Rab is a tipical Mediterranean town rich ih historical monuments, it attracted the first tourists already towards the end of the 19th century, which also signifies the begining of tourism on.

The island of Rab, situated in Kvarner Bay at latitude 44° north, belongs to the northern group of the Adriatic islands. It is sheltered from the cold by Velebit, a mainland mountain belonging to the Dinara massif, which ensures that the influx of fresh and clean continental air reaches Rab at pleasant Mediterranean temperature. The average annual temperature varies between 7 °C in winter and 26 °C in summer, remaining above 18 °C for more than 140 days a year.
Summer months are rendered more pleasant by a mild landward breeze, maestral, while winters are chilly and dry owing to the seaward northeastern wind bora. The shores of the island are lapped by crystal-clear and clean sea brought by the constant northbound stream coming from the ecologically clean Mediterranean. The average temperature of the sea around the island is 24 °C in summer and 12 °C in winter.

Along the northeastern coast of the island, resembling a high stone wall, stretches the towering hill Kamenjak; it protects the rest of the island from the direct influence of harsh continental air and allows it to bask in the warm Mediterranean sun that shines on Rab for over 2470 hours a year. The best connection between the island and the mainland is by the ferries of the Rapska Plovidba d.d., a small local shipping company, that operate between the mainland Jablanac and Mišnjak on the southern coast of the island. The crossing takes 12 minutes only and it is ensured throughout the year. During summer months, another ferry service is available - the one between Lopa on the northern shore of the island and Baska on the island of Krk, lying to the north of it; the journey takes about an hour.
